Securities Exchange

A Securities Exchange is a Person that organizes and provides the system and facilities that are used to bring together offers of those who intend to buy and sell securities. (Art 1 item 4. of Capital Market Law)

As an organization that regulates itself (Self-Regulating Organization/SRO), a Stock Exchange sets rules for the members, listing, trading and other activities related to its business.

Up to present Bapepam has granted business licenses to 2 (two) exchanges as follows:

1. The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX)
The Jakarta Stock Exchange obtained its business license on March 18, 1992 and officially established as a private stock exchange on July 13, 1992 indicated by the switched management from Bapepam to Jakarta Stock Exchange.

2. The Surabaya Stock Exchange (SSX)
The Surabaya Stock Exchange was established on June 16, 1989 as the first exchange in Indonesia. In 1995 The Indonesian Parlallel Exchange merged with BES.



Clearing Guarantee Corporation

A Clearing Guarantee Institution is a Person that clears and guarantees the settlement of Securities Exchange Transactions. (Art 1 item 9. of Capital Market Law)

As a Self Regulating Organization, LKP is required to set rules on Guarantee, securities transaction clearing, and other activities to its business.

Bapepam has granted 1 business license of Clearing Guarantee Corporation to
The Indonesian Clearing and Guarantee Corporation

PT KPEI obtained its business license on June 1, 1998. This corporation substituted the clearing function previously conducted by The Indonesian Securities Depositary (PT Kliring Depositori Efek Indonesia - PT KDEI)



Central Securities Depositary

A Central Securities Depository is a Person that acts as a central Custodian for Custodian Banks, Securities Companies and others. (Capital Market Law Art. 1 Item 10)

As a Self Regulating Organization, LPP is required to set rules on depository, securities transaction settlement and other activities related to its business.

Bapepam has granted 1 Central securities depository business license to
The Indonesian Securities Central Custody

PT KSEI obtained its business license on Nopember 11, 1998. This corporation conducts custody and settlement function previously conducted by The Indonesian Securities Depositary and Settlement Corporation (PT Kliring Depositori Efek Indonesia - PT KDEI)
